In the Artist’s Words
With this piece, I want to inspire viewers to reconnect with others and disconnect from the constant pull of screened technology.
With this piece, I want to inspire viewers to reconnect with others and disconnect from the constant pull of screened technology.
In creating this artwork, I thought back to a time when the only form of long distance communication was calling through a landline telephone. People made an effort to see each other more face-to-face and hear their real voice. I yearn for a time when we can take a step back from our current conveniences and make real, deep connections again. I wanted to capture that nostalgic feeling for a time I had not experienced, and make the scene feel like a key part of vintage life.
I hope for simple pleasures to be enjoyed and appreciated more.
