Deleted Childhood

🏅2026 Finalist – Student Art Exhibition

Violett Macias
Grade 11 — Morse High School

In the Artist’s Words
Young generations are growing up with technology instead of the toys we once cherished.

When I made “Deleted Childhood”, I thought about how young generations are growing up with technology instead of the toys we once cherished. I included a plush bunny sitting in an empty bedroom to symbolize the abandonment of a simpler and more innocent time. My goal was to evoke a feeling of nostalgia in an attempt to revive this fleeting childhood experience.

About the Program

The FOCUS on Impact Student Art Exhibition, presented by the San Diego Film Foundation, empowers students to explore important social issues through creative expression. By transforming research and reflection into art, young artists inspire dialogue, build empathy, and demonstrate the power of storytelling to create positive change.
