Synopsis: Working in a resort to entertain tourists, Tehura struggles with entitled foreigners and men projecting their exotic fantasies on her. She reflects how traditional Tahitian dance used to be the heart of her community, as an artistic and spiritual expression of identity. She chooses to dance for what it means for her, not what it means for the tourists. Tehura aims to explore the vastly different meanings our bodies can hold for ourselves as well as for others. For a tourist, the exotic dancer lifts him into fantasies. For Tehura, her body is a battlefield where she wrestles to find herself.
