Executive Chef Augie Saucedo
Augie Saucedo grew up in a home surrounded by great cooks and even better food. With a mother constantly cooking at home and a father that worked as a chef at the Disneyland Hotel, it was a guarantee that Saucedo would have a passion for palatable plates. His home in Riverside, California provided the fresh ingredients that tickled his taste buds at an early age, and allowed him to experiment with various flavor combinations. Saucedo also had the good fortune of spending five years in South America, where the exposure to various cultures and cuisines cemented his desire to become a chef.
After graduating the Culinary Arts Program at Orange Coast Community College, Saucedo grew his professional experience by working as an Executive chef in many notable establishments such as Sycuan Golf & Tennis Resort, Donovan’s Prime Seafood, Brothers Signature Catering and Events, and most recently Covo located in La Jolla, California. His eclectic style adds a new dimension to each restaurant he has had the honor to work with, clearly leaving his mark of culinary excellence every step of the way.
Saucedo is also an active member of Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs, a former member of the California Culinary Team, a professional member of The American Institute of Wine & Food, and Current board member of Chef Celebration.
Saucedo has and continues to donate his time as well as expertise to local charities at San Diego culinary events such as the Chef Showdown, Share Our Strength, Junior Seau Legends Party, Island Divine, Mamas Kitchen, and Taste of the Cove. Chef Saucedo hopes that all San Diegans enjoy, appreciate, and support the local culinary scene as much as he has enjoyed sharing his spirit in every dish which he has created.
