San Diego Film Festival Basics
The 2018 San Diego International Film Festival is October 10 – 14th. The San Diego International Film Festival is located in two separate villages: ArcLight La Jolla, Westfield UTC and the Downtown Gaslamp District.
For five fun-filled days, the San Diego International Film Festival presents the best in independent filmmaking, offering extraordinary indies and first looks at studio films vying for Academy Awards, as well as panel discussions with filmmakers that will inspire, entertain, educate, and stimulate conversation among film lovers. The Film Festival also includes Night of the Stars Tribute, a celebrity-studded award ceremony, themed film tracks, nightly parties, red carpets, Culinary Cinema, and Filmmaker Awards.
Press & Industry Credentials
Please fill out the Press Credential Application. All media are required to apply for press credentials, and if approved, you will have the opportunity for complimentary access to all screenings and panels.
You will find out on September 21st if you have been approved.
The deadline to apply is Sept 21st.
We will do our best to process your request, but since it is past the deadline it may take longer. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Press credentials are for accredited members of editorial media only. Guests of the press may purchase passes or tickets to all events by visiting Passes and Tickets.
There is an option on the Press Credential Application where you can specify if you would like your contact information shared with filmmakers and their PR representatives.

Yes! Our festival filmmakers have put together press materials for you to use. This will be supplied on September 15th when accepted.
To request an interview, please email us.
The schedule/program will be officially announced September 1. A select few events with celebrities, filmmakers, etc. may be announced at the end of August. Please see above to be added to the media information list.
Select screeners will be available to the press prior to the San Diego International Film Festival for article and reviews. The links will be given on a case by case basis by the PR team to media approved for press credentials.

Attending the Festival
Your press badge will be available at the press check-in location that will be emailed to you prior to the festival. There you will receive your badge and your press packet with important information on festival events. If you are having any issues, please email us.
For each film screening and panel, there will be a clearly marked Press line that will allow you into the event 15 minutes before starting. The Press Line closes five minutes before the event so your prompt attendance is required.
Information about access to all other events, parties, reservations etc. will be provided with your approved press badge.
Industry media should contact Jenny Bloom at Prodigy Public Relations. They will then process your request and let you know if it has been approved.
Yes, there will be a press and media room where you can relax and handle any important online correspondence you have during the festival. The location will be given to you prior to the Film Festival.
