Tips for a Fantastic Festival Experience!

PHYSICAL FESTIVAL

• Make sure to give yourself an extra 20 minutes before your first screening to pick up your badge at box office.
• Make sure you bring your proof of vaccine or negative COVID test because you can be checked before entering.  You will be given a wrist band you will wear the remainder of the weekend.
• The Box Office will be Credit Card only.
• On the back of your badge is the program QR code. Make sure to scan to view the program!
• Reserve the screenings and events you want to attend! Films are filling up make sure to get yourselves reserved!
• The San Diego Museum of Art venue requires face masks indoors.  Please be sure to bring your face mask on Sat, Oct 16th.
• See the full list of films for our in-person screenings.

VIRTUAL FESTIVAL

• You must purchase a separate pass to attend the Virtual Festival! 
• Don’t miss our Virtual happy hour on Friday, Oct 22nd at 5:00PM  – add to your calendar!
• Make sure you are using Chrome web browser.
• Cast the movies from your computer to your big screen TV with Google Chromecast, Apple TV streaming or HDMI connection form the computer.
• Invite friends to watch films with you in the comfort of your own home!
• Check the Perspective Center after you see a film so you can watch the the Q&A’s with the Filmmakers!

PASSHOLDERS – What Next?

JUST FLASH YOUR PASS!

Your badge gives you access to films and events during the Festival. To guarantee attendance, you must FIRST reserve your Festival films and events online or at the box office.  Once you have reserved, just FLASH YOUR PASS at the door to enter.

HOW TO RESERVE AND MANAGE YOUR SCHEDULE

Online: Find your confirmation email. Click on “Manage Schedule” reserve the films or events you would like to attend. You may also cancel or change your schedule. If you can’t attend a screening or event, please remember to cancel so that someone else can have your spot.

Box Office: During box office hours, we can assist you if you need to reserve or adjust your schedule.

Lost Badge: Please see our box office location to deactivate your previous badge and receive a new badge.

Festival Tip: What if the screening I want to see is sold out? Try the Rush Line where you can often get a seat.

WHICH LINE DO I STAND IN?

THEATER LINE ACCESS

Priority line (VIP pass and Patron Pass): If your badge has the word, “VIP” or “PATRON” on it, you can gain access to this line. The priority line entry is at the theater entrance door of where the film is screening.

General line (Fest Pass and tickets): General line access is outside of the theater doors on the outside of the building. You will be admitted after VIP and Patron Lines are admitted into the theater.

Pass holders and ticket holders MUST BE SEATED AT LEAST 5 MINUTES PRIOR TO SCHEDULED START TIME to guarantee entry. After this time, remaining seats will be released to the Rush Line.

Rush line (Non-reservations and Non-ticket holders): If you prefer not to reserve your film selections or buy a ticket in advance, you may still gain entrance to screenings by waiting in the film’s Rush Line. You will be seated on a first-come, first-serve basis once all guests who have reserved or purchased tickets for the film have been seated.

Parking

BALBOA PARK
The best parking to access the Museum of Photographic Arts or San Diego Museum of Art is to park in any of the parking lots off of Park Blvd. There is a parking lot with handicapped spots that is located directly behind the Museum of Photographic Arts and the Prado. Enter on Park Blvd and you will see the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center to your right.  

CATAMARAN HOTEL RESORT
Catamaran offers valet if you wish to valet your vehicle.  You can also self park in the lot at the Catamaran for a day rate or there is free parking on the streets around the venue.

VIRTUAL FILM FESTIVAL

Festival Virtual Village – 150 Feature, Documentary, & Short Films.  Inside the Festival Virtual Village you’ll find:

• The Features Theater – Find all of our feature length narrative features and documentary on-demand and available from October 15th – 24th. 
• The Shorts Theater – Find all of our short films on-demand and available from October 15th – 24th. 
• The San Diego Locals Theater –On Demand Films from San Diego Filmmakers.
• Filmmaker Cafe – Come mix and mingle with fellow participants and filmmakers. This is where we will be doing virtual happy hours!
• Members Only Theater – This is where our Festival Members can view specific films.  Become a member today to access these.  
• The Perspectives Center – On Demand Q&As.
