FOCUS On Impact Educational Program
Preparing Future Leaders With Global Perspectives: Film, Curriculum & Conversation
Since 2016, the Patron supported FOCUS On Impact Film Tour has presented Film, Curriculum & Conversation to almost 5000 High School Students and their Teachers throughout San Diego County with topics such as homelessness (Storied Streets), water pollution (River Blue), refugees (Soufra) and the question – ‘What Does Success Look Like?’ (We Rise Up).
In 2018, a strategic partnership with Superintendent Cindy Marten, San Diego Unified School District, and Superintendent Dr. Paul Gothold, San Diego County Office Of Education, vastly increased access to Students and Teachers by providing both on-site film screening events with filmmakers and also streaming directly into the classrooms.
The Film Residency Program mentors Students through the filmmaking process and seeks Student submissions to the San Diego International Film Festival. Check Out Past Film Projects
And finally, Student Day At The San Diego International Film Festival has hosted over 1,500 Students and Teachers over the past four years with special screenings as well as access to other Festival events and screenings.
